Requirements

Pet Admission Requirements

Because all of our canine guests remain together and in close contact with our family and staff  - there are some requirements that need to be met to attend our dog camp:

Training level (pups are an exception):
  • Responds to basic commands
  • Fully house trained
Social compatibility:
  • No history of aggression with humans
  • No history of injuring another dog, unless it was self defense.
  • Social with other dogs (or passive), not aggressive
Vaccinations:
  • Up to date on all vaccinations.
  • We cannot accept any dog administered a vaccine within 14 days of your booking.
  • We may accept Titers
  • Bordatella (Kennel Cough) or Homeopathic equivalent:
Neutered/ Spayed:

Every dog that matures to be sexually active must be neutered or spayed - typically after 6 months and not beyond 12 months of age.

Tics & Fleas:
  • Your dog must be on a flea program (between March and October) and not have fleas.
  • Flea collars are not acceptable substitutes.
Hygiene/ grooming:
  •  Recently bathed
  •  Nails trimmed

Restricted Breeds:

Our open group environment leaves many small, medium and timid dogs vulnerable to aggressive, dominant dogs. Through experience we have learned that the following breeds can no longer be considered to attend Camp Canine:
  •     Akita
  •     American Staffordshire
  •     American Bulldog
  •     Bull Terrier
  •     Cane Corso
  •     German Sheppards
  •     Pitbull 
  •     Rottweiller
  •     Any dog that is a purebred derivative of the above breeds
For any mixed breeds of the above list: Provided your dog has no history of aggression and is not dominant then call us to discuss.
