Requirements for Admission

Because all of our canine guests play together as a group and are in close contact with our family and staff  – the following requirements need to be met in order to attend our dog camp:

Training level:

  • Responds to basic commands and house-trained (pups are an exception)

Social compatibility:

  • No history of aggression with humans
  • Social with other dogs (or passive) – but NOT aggressive.
  • If your dog has been bitten, pinned or attacked by another dog its important that we know, so we can schedule an exclusive assessment.

Health: Cannot be carrying any contagious infection or parasite.

Vaccinations: Rabies,  DHPP or DAP, Bordatella (Kennel Cough).  Titers is accepted.

Neutered/ Spayed: Every dog must be neutered or spayed before sexual maturity. Some exceptions made.

Ticks & Fleas: Your dog must be on a flea program (between late April and October) and not have fleas. Flea collars are not acceptable substitutes. We will consider Homeopathic/ Herbal tinctures prescribed by an alternative vet.

Hygiene/ Grooming: Nails trimmed (especially if your dog likes to jump up), coat not malodorous.

Separation Anxiety: If your dog becomes stressed and anxious in your absence, typically a canine group environment is not appropriate for them.

Attend & Pass our Behaviour Assessment: your dog must demonstrate they’re social with strange dogs and not fearful (shy, timid and cautious are OK), and are reasonably obedient and do not have high separation anxiety.

Please e-mail us the following information (if your dog meets all our requirements and is not one of the restricted breeds listed below): Your dogs’ name,  age,  BREED  (be very specific), for mix breeds please send a picture, current weight, neutered/ spayed, current on vaccines, health status, last date boarded, how often per week socialized with canines off-leash, level of obedience, your potential boarding dates or desired day care days, your mobile/ home ph number, your city/town.

Restricted Breeds (Not Permitted): Through years of experience we have learned the following breeds are not appropriate to play among a mixed group of dogs, especially small breed dogs:

  • Akita
  • American Pitbull
  • American Eskimo
  • Grey Hound
  • Staffordshire Bull Terrier
  • Cane Corso
  • Dalmatian
  • German Shepherd
  • Grey Hound
  • Siberian Husky
  • Malamute
  • Mastiff
  • Newfoundlander
  • Prey Hounds (Pharaoh, Coon, etc)
  • Rottweiler
  • Weimaraner
  • Any dog who is a derivative of the above breeds.

If you have a mixed breed of the above list and provided your dog is neutered/ spayed, not dominant with you , not aggressive with strange dogs then please call us to discuss.
